When the Happiness ends, what comes after?

It may sound like a vague question, but I would have to say that this is a question that nags us unconsciously every now and then. I mean, we are beings who feast on happiness and crave for satisfaction. These are moments that come to us like a burst of emotion that uplift us and give us a sort of adrenaline rush! It makes us smile, shout our hearts out or whatever action that signifies an explosion from within, BOOOM!!

This is a man jumping for joy after the girl of his dreams finally said YES, or the clenched fist that punches through thin air after finishing the final boss in your favorite video game, or the funky dance unleashed after getting a raise...

And after the manifestation of joy in our life, do we go back crashing to Earth? This is the once ecstatic, lovestruck boy now riddled by the absence of romance in their relationship, or the gamer who needs to find another game to play after finishing his beloved RPG or the employee who is having a hard time budgeting his money even after a raise...

So what comes after happiness, joy and ecstasy? Do we just go back to our normal lives? They say that man cannot be truly satisfied, we become sad, we worry, we search for answers within us but we never truly find them, perhaps a lucky few, and how we wish to be part of that list.

Can we truly be happy to the point that it's our normal way of life...or is it just the dark night sky that will always welcome us after an abundant display of fireworks...

So what comes after?

I too have often asked myself that question. Worrying too soon even when, or especially when I am at the peak of a happy experience, because I know too well, that such feelings can only slip away too soon... But as I grew older, (yes, I know that even if I don't act it), I discovered that real happiness, is having God in your heart always. It is that inner calm, that sense of satisfaction that you know He is watching over you and loving you. That ability to smile, even without a reason. The joy in just knowing that there is another day, another reason to love, another reason to make today better than yesterday... Another day that the sun still rises & shines and blesses the world with new hope. Another chance to seek out more reasons to stay happy. ^^ Sometimes happiness can also be found in the quietness & contentedness of the heart. :) Did that make sense?

It made a lot of sense! I guess as long as you can be a vassal of happiness for others than life will be ok.
