One of the main attractions...The made to Order Figures!!That towered over all the others, literally and figuratively!
I know its a bit late, but I just had to post about it and share a few images from the Toy Con that would surely make any toy collector drool or just simply empty their bank accounts for acquisitions sake!lolx!
First of all, 80 bucks for the entrance was not that bad, considering the discounts that awaited inside. But I wasn't really there to buy anything, I just wanted to check out what the hype was all about and get to experience my very first TOY CON.
Upon entering, I was a bit surprised that the GMA booth welcomed the visitors as they advertised their toy line based on their telenovelas - now I don't want to sound negative but as a toy collector and hobbyist, I don't think that this should have been the "opening attraction." I just felt it was strangely out of place... anyway, that's just me...
However, I didn't need to dweel there as hundreds of toys awaited. So I only had these following toys in mind: transformers, gundam and dragon ball which to my delight was in abundance and was sold awfully cheap!!
I even had a chance to bargain with the exhibitors, with Deluxe Tf's as low as 300 and the masterpiece starscream at 2800. But I wasnt really very liquid that day, so I just ended up buying 2 gundam pepsi bottle caps, lolx!
Overall it was a fun experience, though coming on the 2nd day was a big no no, almost all the new TF's were purchased on the 1st day. I guess you always have to be on your toes and keep your eyes peeled for everything there. You never know when something you need will suddenly pop up!
So, am I going back next year? definitely, and I will be armed with better experience and more dough!
